The Direcção Geral de Agricultura e Desenvolvimento Rural (DGADR) is the official regulatory body with the responsibility for official seed certification in Portugal.
The seed control and certification regulations are laid down by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries and Forest. There is a general regulation for seed and propagating material control and certification and several specific regulations :
• Cereals seed
• Fodder seed
• Oil and fibre seed
• Beet seed
• Vegetables Seed
• Seed Potatoes
