DEFINITION OF EU SEED CERTIFICATION

The EU certification can be defined as following, according to seed trade Directives requirements:

• a certification of the product "seeds",
• an official "third part" or "confidence third part" certification,
• a guarantee about the seed characteristics to control:
  • the varietal identity of the seeds,
  • the varietal purity of the seeds,
  • the physical purity of the seeds,
  • the seed germination,
  • the absence of other species and/or no multiplications species,
  • the absence of deseases
• a certification based on field means requirements and seed lot norms,
• a certification controlled by equipment requirements, technical qualifications, and recommended methods.
